May 12 is International Nurses Day. Cherry Law, now a senior nurse at the Elizabeth Hospital General Nursing School, reflects on her nursing journey: As a secondary school student, she joined a medical experience program, planting the seed for a nursing career and leading her to enroll in nursing school. After graduation, she served on the hospital frontlines, then pursued further development in obstetrics, returning to school to train as a midwife. As a midwife, she supported expectant mothers and shared unforgettable moments of babies' births . In a "graceful transition," she returned to the nursing school as a mentor, nurturing the next generation of nurses.
Over the past decade, Cherry has been guided by dedicated mentors, supported by caring classmates, and complemented by workplace colleagues, experiencing both challenges and joys. She shares, "Everyone's nursing journey may be unique, influenced by different people, events, and things. The most important thing is to stay true to your original passion and continue loving this profession that helps both yourself and others" .
