Tsan Yuk Hospital was founded in 1922 by missionaries from London to provide obstetric services to the community. It later became a public hospital and a teaching hospital of the University of Hong Kong, providing training and research for doctors. The hospital also offers obstetric training for student nurses.
The hospital has now become a day centre, providing antenatal and postnatal care to patients, and implementing a number of health education programmes, including how to care for newborn babies, diet for pregnant women, and family planning. In addition, Tsan Yuk Hospital has also added community care, professional medical, and psychiatric rehabilitation services.
